Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

Overview of Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)

Atlantic Pilot Program is a fast track immigration program which was launched in the year 2017. Companies which are located in Canada’s four Atlantic provinces — Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island — can hire overseas residents for jobs which they have not been able to fill locally.

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) has a different and unique eligibility requirement that makes it more attractive for the recent graduates and skilled workers. For example the workers in National Occupational Classification (NOC) level C, with limited language ability, may be able to immigrate through this program. Those professionals who are skilled and fall under NOC O, A and B can also apply for this program.

With the help of this program population growth, increasing skilled workforce and reducing the skilled worker shortage are fulfilled in the region.

Some of the categories targeted by this program are mentioned below:

  • Skilled workforce and immigration;
  • Innovation;
  • Clean growth and climate change;
  • Trade and investment; and
